The writing was witty at times, but Phoebe was an unattractive character &#8211; suicidal, self-doubting, intellectually lazy, drank too much, smoked, was too forward toward Gary, rude to Lila, etc. The rest of the wedding people were pretty unappealing, too, but the main problem was the lack of a discernible plot.
